At Veolia, we believe that Safety, Health and Environmental issues are the foundation for all aspects of our operational divisions and we adhere strictly to legislation to ensure compliance across the entire business.

Due to the nature of the business that we operate, there are significant risks associated with our activities. VES has always taken its reponsibilities in terms of Safety, Health & Environment very seriously and the decision was taken to certify to the ISO14001 standard to demonstrate this commitment as well as to ensure that there is continuous improvement of environmental performance. Now that this has been achieved, the next goal will be to certify to the OHSAS18001 standard to formalise our Health & Safety management systems. The goal to achieve this is June 2008 and certification audits have been scheduled with the SABS.
